During the 34th week of her pregnancy, Mrs. Judith BAKUNZI, aged 36, gave birth to triplets at HEAL Africa Hospital on Friday September 22, 2023. Two boys and one girl, the newborns were severely stunted at birth. They were then transferred to the Neonatology Unit of HEAL Africa Hospital for appropriate care. Their situation is now stable.

The three babies struggle with a respiratory distress that necessitates the use of several devices and a
high consumption of oxygen, which is very costly. “I am unemployed, as is my husband. I gave birth by caesarean section, and can’t produce enough breast milk for my three babies. Without assistance, I don’t see how to get out of it,” Judith said. It was when she knew she was expecting triplets that she decided to give birth at HEAL Africa Hospital. “I know a lady who gave birth to quadruplets at HEAL Africa in 2019, and all of them are doing very well. That’s what drove my choice to this hospital,” she explained.
