The College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) fosters postgraduate education in surgery and provides surgical training throughout the region of East, Central and Southern Africa.

Last year, HEAL Africa became accredited by the organization to begin specialized training and practice for doctors in General Surgery. Five doctors have been recruited in North-Kivu to be trained by the professors coming from Australia, the United States, Kenya and Rwanda over the next three years.
