Food, Friendship, Fun, and Cervical Cancer on International Women's Day
Our staff is intentional when it comes to raising the status of women. So it is no surprise that International Women’s Day is celebrated and well attended. In addition to dressing in solidarity, food, dancing, music, and an educational component to the event are usually involved.
This year Dr. Eugénie KAMABU, fourth year Resident Doctor, gave a presentation on cervical cancer screening. The aim was to sensitize women working at HEAL Africa about the symptoms and treatment.
Joining us for the event were Gwen Wetzig and Heather Kelly, long time and frequent volunteers from Australia.
